The name is the method. A good portrait has less to do with the camera than with whether the person in front of it feels looked at, rather than looked through.
So sessions start slowly. Usually ten minutes of walking and talking before a single frame. The light is whatever the day gives us, and the edit stays close to how the room actually looked.
